Gay New Hampshire Episcopal Bishop V. Gene Robinson has joined those saying they don't want pastor Rick Warren to deliver the invocation at Barack Obama's inauguration. Robinson's intolerance is disappointing.

After all, Robinson's relationship with another man has deeply split the Episcopalian Church. Its decision to allow a gay man to become a bishop has cost the church tens of thousands of members in America.

I'm a member of the Episcopalian Church and have no problems with the Robinson decision...

Nigerian muslims have been urged to canvass for the declaration of the nation as a multi-religious country during deliberations on the proposed constitution amendment.

The former General Secretary of Jama'at Nasirl-Islam, Justice Abdulkadir Orire, who made the call during the celebration of 1430 Hijrah in Ilorin yesterday posited that "allowing secularity to govern our nation is to make us a godless country." Declaring the secularity status of Nigeria as "unacceptable" to muslims, Orire who is also a former grand kadi of Kwara state stressed that "we must say it loud and clear that Nigeria is a multi-religious country, but not a secular nation." Orire, who explained that the marking of the commencement of the muslims new calendar year was to sensitise them on their responsibilities, decried the lack of unity amongst the faithful despite the guideline laid down for them by Allah to achieve unity. He noted that muslims were always urged to meet and dialogue on issues common to them, lamenting that "but we never care at all. We care on what concerns us more than what concerns religion and its future."..
